The government’s version of Lokpal bill that is under your consideration currently is in-effective. The bill provides for the body of LokPal to be in government’s control for the selection, functioning and removal of its members. The government’s version of the bill will only serve to aid the corrupt and stifle the whistleblowers rather than ensuring a protective climate for the whistleblowers and citizens to report the acts of corruption by public servants.
Collectively, the different clauses in the government’s bill proves to be a cruel joke on the nation.
Shri.Anna Hazare(www.indiaagainstcorruption.org), has drafted along with his team, a reasonable and effective Jan Lokpal bill which strikes the plague that is corruption in the heart. Please find attached a copy of the Janlokpal bill.
I request you to urge the government to withdraw its version of the lokpal bill and to introduce Janlokpal in the parliament.
